I recently saw someone I follow on Tumblr on a street corner, and immediately recognized her, but realized she would a. have no idea who I was b. would probably be weirded out and c. have to go through the motions of explaining the entire situation to her\my friends. Not a good scenario for all parties involved.

This has happened to me before but I always end up meeting the person through a mutual friend, and have some relevance to the person. In this case there is almost no connective social group, no overlap in blogging topics, no clue about real life interests or any of that. I think all those things are fine - but still leaves me with this conundrum. That is a part of what makes the connective tissue of Tumblr so great.

I told my group of friends afterwards about this and they were little help as to what you should or should not do.

So, I ask you Tumblr community, what do you do if you see someone you follow in real life?

My friend @msingleton asks Can you have algorithms as a service (AaaS)? http://bit.ly/cYkcZa

My friend @msingleton asks Can you have algorithms as a service (AaaS)? http://bit.ly/cYkcZa

My thoughts on why the coming Google network is a big deal http://bit.ly/dg0BoW

My thoughts on why the coming Google network is a big deal http://bit.ly/dg0BoW
